Katie Pritchard

Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Katie Pritchard, a trainee quantity surveyor, is a prime example of how Elan Homes is encouraging young talent.

“I had an A-level in business and a BTEC level three in engineering but was struggling to decide which career path to take and so was temping at various companies, including Elan, when an office junior role became available,” Katie recalls.

“Within two years I was promoted to admin assistant within the fast paced sales department. During my annual performance reviews with my line manager we focused on the direction to progress my career in. In 2016 I was ready for the next step when a vacancy arose in the commercial department. I discussed it with my line manager and the commercial manager and decided it was the role for me. I would recommend working for Elan as you’re looked after by the management team and colleagues – we’re more like a big family as we all look out for each other.”

Wayne Aron

Site Manager

Wayne Aron is an experienced site manager who has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. “I’ve worked in construction most of my life,” Wayne explains. “I started out as a bricklayer more than 20 years ago and progressed up the career ladder with a large PLC to section foreman, general foreman and then site manager. I’ve been a site manager for seven years and joined Elan in 2013. The advantage of working for Elan is that we’re a real team, all working together closely. I prefer working for Elan as a niche developer than when I worked for a larger construction company. I take pride in my work and enjoy managing for Elan.

During my time with the company I’ve won two NHBC Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Awards. Hopefully, in a few years’ time, with the support of the team and ongoing training I’ll be able to progress to contracts manager."
