Cheshire Site Manager’s Pride at award win
EXPERIENCE and pride in a job well done has paid off for Wayne Aron, helping him scoop a top industry award for his role in overseeing construction of new homes in Haslington.
Elan Homes employee Wayne was among 15,000 site managers to be assessed by judges from the National House Building Council over the past year. He passed the rigorous 38-point assessment to be named one of just 450 site managers to win Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Awards.
Wayne explained: “I’ve worked in construction most of my life having followed in my dad’s footsteps. I started out as a bricklayer 21 years ago and progressed up the career ladder, joining Elan about two years ago.
“This is my first ‘Quality’ Award and reflects the hard work that everyone a Vicarage Fields has put in. The team are all behind me and are happy with the win.”
Judging for the awards includes spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site plus assessments of technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.
Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every aspect of their work on site and in the homes they build will be considered for a Pride in the Job Award.
Wayne will have to wait until a regional award ceremony in the autumn to find out if he’s achieved the next level, the coveted Seal of Excellence. These are awarded to the top 130 site managers nationwide.
“The award gives customers a reassurance of the quality of their new home,” Wayne added.
“I’d like to try and go on to the next level and win a Seal of Excellence.”
Vicarage Fields offers a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, priced from £209,995.
Show homes are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information call 0845 250 8680
