Downsizers say goodbye to DIY
EASE of maintenance was top of Steve and Fiona Cropper’s wish list and by moving from old to new, the couple have found their ideal home at Heritage Park in Penymynydd.
Mr and Mrs Cropper haven’t looked back since selling their old five-bedroom property in Mold and buying a brand new home from Elan Homes, as Mr Cropper explains.
“We have moved five or six times over the last 30 year and we’ve always bought older properties that someone else has lived in before us. We were ready to downsize to somewhere more manageable and decided we’d had enough of moving in and having to clear up after the previous owners so looked at new build properties,” Mr Cropper said.
“When we visited Heritage Park really liked the layout of the Warminster show home and how it had been decorated so decided to go for it and buy the show home – it was great being able to move straight in without having to think about repairs or renovations.”
Their new home boasts a kitchen that’s well equipped with integrated appliances. Both the family bathroom and en-suites to master bedroom and second bedroom enjoy quality fixtures and fittings.
Daughter Emma particularly enjoys having her own en-suite.
Built to modern, energy efficient standards, the Croppers’ new home should be more economical to run than their previous property.
As with many homebuyers, location was an important factor when Mr and Mrs Cropper were choosing where to live – they wanted somewhere that was within easy reach of Hawarden, where Fiona works.
“We did a test run to see how long it would take her to get to work and it was about seven minutes for her three and a half mile commute,” Mr Cropper adds.
Situated on Mold Road, Heritage Park is also within commuting distance of Chester.
Downsizing Your Home
The development has open space to two sides, enabling its residents to make the most of views of the surrounding Welsh countryside.
It’s ideally placed for buyers with families as the homes are within walking distance of the local village primary school. A play area with plenty of fun equipment surrounded by open space and wildflower meadows forms part of the development and is due to open later this year.
Opportunities to move to Heritage Park are now few and far between, with just a few five-bedroom homes still available. Current prices start from £359,995.
The sales office and show homes at Heritage Park are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. Details are also available by calling 0845 481 8807
