Elan homes in on Castle Cary

BRISTOL-based housebuilder, Elan Homes, will bring a collection of new homes to Castle Cary, Somerset, after acquiring a three-acre parcel of land.

Elan has acquired the former Wells Farm, on Station Road on the edge of Castle Cary, and will develop a quality collection of 37 homes, including eight affordable properties, in a wide range of three and four-bedroom designs.

The acquisition comes as Elan has just completed an exclusive scheme of nine luxury homes at Steinbeck Walk in Bruton.

Catherine Marshall from Elan Homes in the South, said “There is strong demand for new homes in Castle Cary, which is an attractive market town brimming with history. It is a fantastic place to live, with good schools close by, an array of local amenities and a mainline train station within walking distance for commuters.

“We are pleased to have secured such a prominent site for new homes and look forward to delivering the high quality properties that Elan is renowned for.”

The first homes are expected to go on sale in the autumn.

As part of the detailed planning consent for the site, Elan will be making an investment of around £130,000 into a wide range of community amenities, with provision allocated towards the community hall, changing rooms, an equipped play area and a range of other local leisure facilities.

Elan Homes has developed a strong reputation in Somerset for creating new communities in desirable locations, and quality homes which stand the test of time.

The privately-owned housebuilder is well-placed to take advantage of land opportunities of different sizes or with bespoke requirements, with or without existing planning consent, with speed and flexibility.

Previous Elan developments in Radstock, Milborne Port, Yeovil and Bruton have all proved to be extremely popular. In addition to Castle Cary, the house builder is set to launch a collection of bespoke homes in Somerton, in September.
