Experienced Sales Executive comes home to Elan

COLLETTE Lord feels at home in her new role selling homes at Aigburth Grange in South Liverpool having returned to work with niche developer Elan Homes.

Following 15 years as an airline industry employee, Collette has worked in the housing industry for more than a decade.

“I made a career change in January 2004, initially working for a selling agent acting for a company specialising in urban regeneration for two years. I then joined David Wilson Homes before joining Elan in January, 2008 selling executive apartments at Riverside at the Racecourse in  Chester and selling executive family homes in North Wales,” Collette says.

After gaining further experience working for a PLC developer she has returned to Elan Homes and is now based at their Aigburth Grange in South Liverpool.

“When I came into the industry the property market was changing and subsequently it was more challenging and aspects of the role of a sales executive changed. I achieved my sales targets and was fortunate to be able to maintain my employment with Elan Homes during the recession.  I excelled in my role during this period gaining experience in a negative market,” Collette explains.

“Elan is a great company to work for and now that the market conditions have improved it’s much busier and there’s a good momentum of interest from potential purchasers. The challenge now is more about managing people’s expectations and the level of demand rather than trying to attract buyers with incentives.”

She says: “It helps to be able to share my professional experience with buyers to be able to create a positive customer journey through good customer care.

“A lot of customers are living in older properties and have big energy bills and maintenance costs and now recognise the benefits that new build homes give.  New Homes are the way forward as they’re much more energy efficient and create a blank canvas for clients.”
