WITHIN easy reach of the historic city of Bath, a new show home is set to open to showcase the style and quality on offer at Elan’s Radstock development.

The much anticipated property, which has been professionally styled by Andrew Henry Interiors, will launch at Somer Mews on November 23, providing purchasers with a glimpse of the lifestyle that could await them.

Providing a further boost to buyers, Elan Homes is offering the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme on all eleven homes at the venture. It makes owning a brand new home close to Bath more affordable since customers will only need a 5% deposit, a 75% mortgage and they can be offered an equity loan by the Government for up to 20% of the property’s value.

Andrea Nippe, sales director for Elan Homes in the South, said: “The opening of our new four-bedroom show home at Somer Mews will give potential purchasers the chance to look around a fully furnished and beautifully decorated show home for the first time at this location.  It will demonstrate the thought and craftsmanship that has gone into every home and give them an opportunity to envisage life here.

“The interior scheme has been given a real ‘wow’ factor by Andrew Henry Interiors. Designed to have a wide appeal, it boasts a classic scheme using Bath stone colours. Elegant dark wenge and black furniture is complemented perfectly by raspberry accents, which really bring the design to life.

“Stand out features include luxurious metallic wallpapers, delicate light fittings and some classic artwork inspired by the Georgian splendour of Bath. Although our homes are much more affordably priced compared with those closer to the centre of Bath, we feel they offer the same aspirational qualities while providing excellent value for money, particularly when purchased through the Help to Buy scheme.”

Prices at Somer Mews start from £214,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached property.

With Help to Buy it could be purchased with:

  • A deposit of £10,750
  • A mortgage for £161,246
  • An equity loan from the Government of up to £42,999

The loan is interest free for five years. It can be repaid at any time during the mortgage period or when the customer resells.

Andrea added: “The important thing to note about Help to Buy is that it’s not just for first time buyers, but can be utilised by existing home owners too. It truly is a valuable incentive that could make a real difference to our customers by reducing the size of the mortgage required and therefore making the repayments easier to afford. It’s the help scheme many of our customers have been waiting for.”

Somer Mews features a superb selection of three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes and bungalows. Properties at the prestigious venture enjoy views over the valley towards Midsomer Norton.

Surrounded by green fields and countryside, the market town of Radstock is at the very heart of the West Country, just 10 miles from Bath and close to the Wiltshire border.

It’s the perfect location for families with some excellent schools nearby. Memorial Park and Tom Huyton Park provide places to relax and for children to play. There are also plenty of cycle and walking trails in the vicinity.
