New homes in Yeovil indicate positive signs for local housing market

Launched less than two months ago, a collection of brand new homes in Yeovil, South Somerset are proving the health of the region’s housing market.

Built on land that was once home to Yeovil Town FC, the Harbin Fields venture scored an early goal in November with a hat-trick of sales within the first few weeks of opening its doors.

Interest in the homes has remained strong since and the Elan development is now gearing up for a busy New Year with a selection of the homes due for completion in February 2014.

The new venture will eventually feature 35 properties, including ten affordable homes and a collection of four-bedroom designs. Homebuyers can currently choose between four designs with prices ranging from £249,995 to £296,995 for a premium quality family home.

Visitors to the development also have the chance to step inside a brand new fully-furnished show home. Opened by Yeovil Town FC’s Kevin Dawson and Paddy Madden, one of the show home bedrooms had been kitted out in full club colours in a nod to the area’s sporting heritage.

Explaining the venture’s popularity, Andrew Nippe, sales director for Elan Homes in the South said: “Harbin Fields is a unique offering for Yeovil residents, with all the homes benefitting from spacious, open-plan layouts, generous gardens and high-quality specification.

“The development is served by two train stations and has excellent rail and road links to London and Bristol. And with many of the homes due for completion over the next six months, early birds are getting their reservations in now for the New Year.”

Just a few minutes away from the town centre, Harbin Fields has easy access to some excellent local shops, restaurants and amenities, including Marks and Spencer and Yeovil’s famous street markets.

Meanwhile, there are a number of schools close by to the development, including Grass Royal Junior School, Buckler’s Mead Community School and Milford Infants’ School among others, while further education is offered by Yeovil College.
