Elan Gets The Green Light at Heol Y Grug

The scheme which will be known as Heol Y Grug, is located on Oak Road, close the the A470 road, which provides direct access to Cardiff. Treharris has its own primary school, Ysgol Gymraeg Rhyd-Y-Grug, which is located in the centre of the village and the nearest comprehensive school is only two miles away. Merthyr Tydfil can be found nine miles from the scheme and offers a range of amenities and retail outlets.

Planning has been granted for 25 homes on the 1.85-acre site, which will include a mixture of three and four bedroom houses, as well as two bungalows.

Work is due to start on site in October this year and homes will be ready to move into from the beginning of March 2010. For homebuyers keen to have a taster of what the scheme will look like, the showhome will be ready from February 2010.

On the announcement, Michelle Dare, sales director at Elan Homes commented: “The beauty of Heol Y Grug is not only its location, combining the rural living with good accessibility to the city, but also it’s size. 25 homes is a relatively small development and will create a real, relaxed community feel that you sometimes lose with the larger schemes. The three and four bedroom mix will also mean the scheme is likely to appeal to families, looking to live in the country.”
