Town Crier, Peter Taunton, joined Elan Homes last week, to spread the word about the company’s Abacus development in the heart of Stone. Passers by were treated to the traditional cries of the Town Crier, who informed the people about the benefits of buying a new home in Stone.

Elan Homes went a step further with giving free financial advice to local residents about getting onto the property ladder, and as a result, many of the people were surprised at what they could actually afford on a brand new apartment.

“We really wanted to shout about what we are doing at Abacus”, says Stephen Cleveley, Sales Director for Elan Homes, “and we thought that this would be a great way to grab people’s attention.

“We understand that times are tough at the moment though, and many potential homebuyers are struggling to get a deposit together, so we’re offering a number of incentives as part of our Summer Sale, including a 75/25% shared equity deal, which will really help them out. Also, it appeared that many people who live outside of Stone automatically thought that the town was out of their price range, but we’ve managed to explain to them that this isn’t necessarily the case. We hope that by getting out and about, and providing potential homebuyers with the information they need, they will be encouraged to get onto the property ladder.”
