Niche Developer strengthens Land Team

WITH a new senior appointment and a promotion for a long-serving member of staff, Elan Homes is eyeing expansion of its Northern business.

The niche developer with a reputation for building homes in the most desirable neighbourhoods, has appointed new land director Andrew Morgan and has promoted land buyer Paul Darwin to the position of land manager.

An acclaimed sensitive approach to planning and a knowledge of the best postcodes in the North West, has created some of the most popular developments in the region by the business. For example, the company is currently building and selling homes in the top three most desirable places listed in the Hot Housing Index, which is based on value for money drawn from prices, average income and quality of life.

Elan’s most recent launches include Westminster Place in Chester, Aigburth Grange, South Liverpool and The Birches in Tarporley. The company has also secured prestigious sites in Congleton and Wilmslow and is keen to build on the sell-out success achieved in Altrincham, where all eight homes sold off plan in just two months.

Now Andrew, who has 35 years’ experience of working for some of the area’s leading developers and a wealth of industry knowledge, is firmly focused on maintaining that reputation by highlighting and acquiring sites in prime locations.

The developer aims to create sustainable communities where homebuyers aspire to live and Andrew hopes to use his expertise to successfully identify land which fulfills that objective.

Said Andrew, 53: “Elan has an enviable and proven track record of recognising land in some of the most desirable addresses in the North West and my goal is to ensure the company builds on that success and continues to expand its northern region.

“Location is key for us because our customers value new homes in the best addresses.

“We are principally looking at Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester for land with development potential and I would like to work with land owners to navigate through potential planning issues to ensure those objectives are met.”

Andrew, a father of two, is a keen skier and enjoys playing golf in his hometown of Ormskirk.

Elan Homes have also promoted Paul Darwin to land manager at its Northern headquarters in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Paul, 32, completed a Masters in Civic Design at the University of Liverpool, prior to joining Elan at its inception. He’s risen through the company’s ranks from a land and planning graduate, to land buyer and now to his new role as land manager.

“I enjoy the excitement of identifying and acquiring new land opportunities, the challenge of gaining planning in order to develop the sites and then seeing them progress to become new homes for people to live in and enjoy,” Paul added.
