Why rent when you can buy at Kingsbury Gardens

WITH rising property prices and fears of huge deposits, many adults understandably feel stuck in the rental trap.

For those paying hundreds of pounds a month in rent, getting onto the property ladder can seem impossible. However, a superb scheme available on brand new homes like those by Elan at Kingsbury Gardens means taking that first step could easily become a reality.

The show-stopping development at Milborne Port features a range of traditionally-built three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes, with high-specification fittings and designs to appeal to young professionals and families alike.

The Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme is providing would-be homeowners with a lifeline, enabling buyers to secure a home with just a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage. The remainder is covered by a 20% equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

For example, a three-bedroom ‘Fenwick’ family home at Kingsbury Gardens priced at £240,995, could be purchased with a 5% deposit of £12,050, a mortgage for £180,746 and a 20% equity loan for £48,199.

The Fenwick is a semi-detached house with spacious lounge and open plan kitchen/dining room plus a handy cloakroom, and three bedrooms – the master with en-suite – and a family bathroom.

All remaining homes at the Somerset development have fitted kitchens  – so buyers can just move in and start living – and all are on offer are available with the government-backed Help to Buy initiative.

Andrea Nippe, sales director for Elan Homes in the South said: “For many people, putting money into bricks and mortar is a savvy choice.  Why pay hundreds out in rent each month with nothing to show for it at the end of the day?

“It makes sense to put that money into a house of your own.  Not only is it a solid investment with property values increasing all the time, you have a home of your own, of which you can be proud and style how you choose.”

She added: “Milborne Port is a classic village, surrounded by stunning countryside as far as the eye can see. It truly is an enviable place to call home.”

The village, off Wheathill Lane, lies just off the main A30, three miles east of the historic market town of Sherborne.
