WOODLAND HOMES INSPIRED BY NATURE
WARM and welcoming autumnal tones were the natural choice for interior designers tasked with styling a luxurious new show home in rural Cheshire.
As the name suggests, Forest Rise in Mouldsworth is accessed via a tree lined approach. The properties at this exclusive, intimate development from Elan Homes benefit from a share of a wooded copse and are close to Delamere Forest, where there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors close to home.
A new five-bedroom Halstead show home is now open at Forest Rise, dressed by Kerry Jane Interiors.
Designer Katie Barrett says: “The Halstead is a substantial property and because of the size of the home and its location is likely to attract established families, perhaps with older teenagers or even grown up children as well as young children. We’ve taken inspiration from the rural location and imagined that the people who live here are very much outdoorsy types who are very active.
“A colour palette of rich aubergine, rusty red, antique gold and olive give it a cosy and warm, homely feel that’s both luxurious but obtainable.”
In the lounge the neutral oatmeal coloured suite contrasts and complements the rich black wood consoles and coffee table. There’s a chess board set up ready for a game, indicating that this family enjoys spending time together.
The dining room has a look inspired by the 1930s with a geometric wallpaper in gold and olive tones. Simple yet elegant, the black dining table is set for six with sumptuous high backed chairs for guests to dine in comfort.
The kitchen currently doubles as the sales office, but is still both practical and stylish with granite worktops, top brand name appliances including double oven, five-ring hob, integrated dishwasher, American style fridge freezer and microwave, plus cupboards with soft-closing doors.
Recognising that today’s business executives will require a dedicated space where they can work from home, the property includes a downstairs study. Tartan wallpaper with red, purple and orange tones from Cole and Son, plus a large black desk and a leather chair give this room a masculine feel.
In contrast, the master bedroom is simple, elegant and very feminine with soft ivories and gold and mirrored bedside tables.
Olive green and purple tartan sash tie backs and an eclectic scattering of cushions give bedroom two a cosy, country look with a modern twist.
Bedroom three is the domain of an older son or daughter who loves to travel. There’s Mr Perswall wallpaper depicting a map of the world to the feature wall, with a trunk at the end of the bed providing a decorative storage solution.
There’s a little girl’s room with Cole & Son cloud patterned wallpaper where the designers have displayed a kite to show her love of the outdoors.
“Because the homes are close to Delamere Forest and come with their own share of a wooded copse we’ve created a boys room with a woodland theme. There’s a bookshelf made from tree bark and pieces of wood, plus a range of owl and squirrel toys and decorations and of course a pair of wellies and a bobble hat,” Katie adds.
Located off Station Road, Mouldsworth, Forest Rise offers a choice of four and five-bedroom homes. Current prices range from £399,995 to £524,995 – including a share of a wooded copse.
There’s a good range of shops in Tarvin and Frodsham; while Chester is nine miles away and can be reached in around 15 minutes by train from the local station. Liverpool and Manchester are also easily accessible.
Delamere Forest offers plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors on foot, bike or Segway or even through the trees at Go Ape. The area is also home to a number of golf courses.
The show home at Forest Rise is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information call 0845 293 8976
