CHEF & FORAGER HELPS BUYERS HUNT OUT NEW HOMES IN LOGGERHEADS

Chef James Sherwin testing out the Elan show home at Brook Meadow, Loggerheads

TV chef James Sherwin treated visitors to Elan’s Brook Meadow to a taste of things to come with a special demonstration in the kitchen of a new show home in Loggerheads.

James, who appeared on the Channel 4 show The Taste alongside Nigella Lawson, runs Wild Shropshire at Ternhill. The restaurant is around 15 minutes from Elan’s Brook Meadow in Loggerheads, near Market Drayton, making him the perfect guest to launch the new Brandon show home.

A keen forager, James used mainly local ingredients when preparing a dish of lamb, pineapple weed and burnt cream in the well-equipped kitchen.

James said: “British lamb is fantastic and pineapple weed is fast becoming one of my favourite wild plants. Pineapple weed tastes exactly as it sounds really, citrusy, sweet almost exotic and yet grows in verges and drives. The salad will be different depending on what you can forage but as a general rule, just use what you can that will suit lamb.

“It was great to test out Elan’s show home kitchen while giving visitors a flavour of what they could produce themselves with local ingredients and a taste of what we do at Wild Shropshire.”

The demonstration turned up the heat on the local housing market, with a number of reservations secured on the back of the event, including the sale of a Brandon like the new show home.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “We’re grateful to James for taking the time to visit Brook Meadow. It was a great way to show people that our kitchens are both practical and stylish. The sales that we’ve achieved following the event proves that there’s a real appetite for new homes in the area.

“Subject to build stage, buyers will be able to select from a menu of interior choices to create a home that suits their taste, including choosing the finish of their well-equipped kitchen.”

Brook Meadow offers a choice of three and four-bedroom home, with current prices from £209,995 to £439,995. Selected properties are available with part exchange or Stamp Duty paid.

Situated on Mucklestone Road, in the village of Loggerheads, the development is four miles from Market Drayton and around 30 minutes’ drive from Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford.

The Brandon and Stratford style show homes at Brook Meadow are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pmm.
