WHY 2020 IS THE TIME TO BUY A BRAND NEW HOME IN LOGGERHEADS

WITH Help to Buy changing in 2021, now is the time to buy a brand new home in Staffordshire using the Government-backed initiative.

Designed to make homeownership easier to afford, the equity loan scheme is exclusive to new build homes. It’s available at Brook Meadow in Loggerheads, where Elan Homes is building a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes.

The homebuilder is hosting a special Help to Buy event on Saturday (January 11) to guide potential purchasers through the buying process.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Across the country more than 230,000 people have taken out Help to Buy equity loans to reduce the initial cost of buying a brand new home. The vast majority of those who’ve used the scheme have been first time buyers, but it currently it’s also open to other homeowners too.

“Major changes to the scheme are due to be introduced in April 2021. It will be restricted to first time buyers and regional price caps will be implemented. With that in mind, we’re urging would-be homeowners to visit Brook Meadow where they will be able to receive free expert advice from Help to Buy agents, mortgage advisers and our sales team about their buying options.”

Current prices at Brook Meadow range from £234,995 to £419,995 – all within the price cap for Help to Buy in its existing format.

Using Help to Buy, customers should typically only need a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage.

The remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

“Many people who have used Help to Buy tell us it’s made a big difference to their lifestyle,” Marie added.

“In some cases it’s enabled them to skip a rung on the housing ladder and buy a house to grow into rather than out of. For others, it’s meant they haven’t had to compromise on location or saved them time and money by not having to tackle major home improvements.”

At Brook Meadow, Elan has two  four-bedroom detached show homes to inspire buyers.

Situated on Mucklestone Road, on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border, Brook Meadow offers the chance to embrace village living, yet with easy access to Market Drayton. Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford are also around 30 minutes away by car.
