What's in the local area

Chester is home to some of the oldest and most famous independent schools in the country, including the Kings School and Queen’s School, plus a choice of fine prep schools.

Closer to home, the state schools are almost as good, with Saighton CofE Primary rated ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ behaviour by Ofsted, sought after Huntington Community Primary rated ‘good’ and Christleton Primary rated ‘outstanding’ in all areas.

For older children, Christleton High School is also proud to maintain an ‘outstanding’ rating.

Westminster Place lies just off the main A55 Chester bypass, which becomes the North Wales Expressway to Holyhead in one direction, and the M53, connecting to the M56 and Liverpool via the Mersey Tunnel, in the other.

Trains from Chester connect directly to both Liverpool in just 45 minutes and Manchester in an hour. Chester also has direct services to London in around two hours.

If you’re heading further afield, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is just 25 miles and Manchester Airport just 35 miles.

Days out

Chester recently opened 'Storyhouse' a cinema, theatre, library & arts centre perfect for all ages. Nearby Vue Cinema at Cheshire Oaks boasts an Imax screen & Chester’s Forum Studio Theatre offers a range of smaller productions, while the many theatres and concert venues in Liverpool and Manchester are just a short train ride away.

Chester's famous racecourse, the oldest in England, holds regular meetings as well as a host of other exhibitions and shows. Ladies Day is a highlight of the social calendar for the Cheshire Set.

A walk along the historic 'Chester Walls' and Roman Amphitheatre are a must for all ages.

The Ice Cream Farm in nearby Tattenhall is a fun day out for all ages and is only a 12-minute drive away. For something a little different head to The Crocky Trail, full of trails, rope swings and slides - it’s well worth a visit.

Famous for its many high-quality golf courses, you’ll find many just a short drive from Westminster Place, including Eaton and Vicars Cross golf clubs.

Heading out of town, with North Wales right on your doorstep, the opportunities for local leisure are endless. From the delightful beaches of the North Wales Coast, to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park all close by, you can enjoy everything from a fun family picnic to a day of testing outdoor action.

Chester is a veritable shoppers’ paradise, with everything from the modern mall of the Grosvenor shopping centre, to the traditional department store Browns of Chester, plus the many quaint and curious boutiques of the famous Chester Rows.

Head east along the A55 and you’ll find Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village, while if you head west, you’ll find the out of town shopping of Broughton Shopping Park with over 30 big name stores.

For your weekly groceries, nearby Boughton has a large Sainsbury’s supermarket.

Dining out

Chester City Centre has something for everyone when it comes to dining out, with a huge choice of high-class bars and restaurants, including Simon Radley at the Grosvenor Hotel, who has held a Michelin star since 1990.

For something more local there are a great choice of restaurants and pubs in the nearby villages of Huntington, Aldford and Christleton.

Further afield Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village or Broughton Shopping Park also have a range of eateries to suit all.

“I’ve had extremely good care right the way through the purchase and while I was settling in. It wasn’t until after I had bought that I realised how spacious the open plan lounge and kitchen were.”

“We didn’t want to miss out while we tried to sell our old home and with Part Exchange we didn’t have to. It gave us peace of mind and meant that we didn’t have to worry about getting caught up in a chain that could delay our move.”
