HELP FOR CHESTER BUYERS

Elan Homes is hosting a Help to Buy event at Westminster Place, Chester on March 17.

WITH a new show home now open and experts on hand this Saturday (March 17) buying a new home near Chester could be easier than ever.

Elan Homes is inviting potential purchasers to visit Westminster Place, where Help to Buy agents and independent financial advisors will be in attendance. Visitors could be pleasantly surprised to discover that they’re able to skip a step on the housing ladder and purchase a larger home than they expected.

They will also be able to try the new four-bedroom Ashley style show home for size.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Chester and Cheshire West ranks in the top 10 Help to Buy hotspots yet there are still people who aren’t familiar with it or what a difference it could make to their borrowing power. With this event we’re helping to clear up some of the mysteries behind Help to Buy, including if homebuyers are eligible, which properties they can buy using the scheme, what deposit they will need to raise and how much interest they will pay.

“It’s a straight forward process made even more simple by a team of advisors who can be with buyers every step of the way, providing guidance.”

Help to Buy gives buyers the chance to reduce the initial cost of a brand new home with the offer of an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price. Crucially, the equity loan is interest free for five years.

Those who take out the full equity loan should only need a relatively small deposit of around 5%, plus a 75% mortgage from their chosen lender.

Current prices at Westminster Place start from £279,995 for a three-bedroom detached Marford, with a four-bedroom Ashley, like the show home, priced from £299,995.

Arranged over three floors, the Ashley offers an abundance of space at a competitive price.

“Townhouses offer excellent value for money as the extra floor maximises the potential of the property’s footprint. It’s a concept that not everyone can visualise so we’ve opened an example of the Ashley for viewing at Westminster Place to showcase the layout and give buyers an idea of how they could use the space,” Marie added.

On the ground floor, there’s a well equipped kitchen to the front, with combined lounge and dining room to the rear. French doors offer lots of natural light and easy access to the rear garden. There’s also a handy cloakroom on this floor.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms, including master with en-suite, plus the family bathroom.

Two further bedrooms, with a shared shower room are on the top floor.

The new homes at Westminster Place are ideally situated between Saighton and Huntington, offering village living in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, just a few miles from Chester city centre.

There are village shops and a supermarket within easy reach, while there are high street names, boutique stores and a host of dining options just 10 minutes away in the city centre.

The area is well served by well-regarded state and private schools – including Saighton C of E Primary, the independent Abbey Gate College and Huntington

Community Primary – making it a perfect place to settle down and raise a family.
