ROADS have been completed and the foundations are being laid for a quality collection of 37 new homes in Castle Cary, Somerset.

Clevedon-based developer Elan is developing new three and four-bedroom homes at Weavers Field – formerly Wells Farm, in Station Road, with the first show home expected to open in late spring.

Available in a wide range of designs, 24 of the homes will be private and 13 affordable at the three-acre site.

Catherine Marshall, sales director for Elan Homes in the South, said: “Work is progressing really well and we’ve now started work on the foundations for the first homes. We anticipate that the development will be highly sought-after, occupying a location where this is a strong demand for high quality new homes.

“Among the attractive features of Weavers Field are good schools close by, an array of local amenities and a mainline train station within walking distance for commuters.”

In addition to the construction of new homes, Elan will be making an investment of around £130,000 into a wide range of community amenities, with funding allocated towards the community hall, changing rooms, an equipped play area and a range of other local leisure facilities.

Elan Homes has developed a strong reputation in Somerset for creating new communities in desirable locations, and quality homes which stand the test of time.

Previous Elan developments in Radstock, Milborne Port, Yeovil and Bruton have all proven to be extremely popular. In addition to Castle Cary, the house builder also recently launched a collection of bespoke homes in Somerton
