A SPECIAL visit by the Mayor of Yeovil and the Town Crier has marked the official opening of a new show home at Elan’s latest development.

Visitors to Harbin Fields, in Pen Mill, were welcomed to the venture by Yeovil’s Town Crier Bruce Trigger before the Mayor of Yeovil Cllr Manny Roper declared the four-bedroom show home open to the public.

Once complete, the Harbin Fields development will feature a total of 35 properties with a variety of four-bedroom designs, together with 10 affordable homes.

It is being built on land that was once home to Yeovil Town FC several decades ago, and one of the rooms in the show home has been decked out in club colours as a tribute to the site’s history.

Yeovil Town fans favourite’s Kevin Dawson and Paddy Madden have already given the show home their seal of approval when they took a preview tour to see the themed bedroom.

Andrea Nippe, sales director for Elan Homes in the South, said: “It was an honour to welcome the Mayor and Mr Trigger to our launch event and show them around Harbin Fields. We’re delighted to now be able to welcome homebuyers to our new show home, which displays the high quality on offer at this development. We’ve already taken our first reservation so we look forward to increased interest from potential purchasers.”

With prices at Harbin Fields starting from £249,995 for a spacious four-bedroom property, there is an impressive variety of house styles for buyers to choose from.

The development puts residents close to the heart of town and is just a short walk from Yeovil Pen Mill railway station, on the Bristol to Weymouth line. Nearby Yeovil Junction station has services to London Waterloo and Exeter.

Meanwhile, there are a number of schools close to the development, including Grass Royal Junior School, Buckler’s Mead Community School and Milford Infants’ School among others, while further education is offered by Yeovil College.
