Not your average Chester home
CHESTER homebuyers who expand their search by just a few miles could find that their money goes further.
Based on Land Registry figures, Rightmove suggests that the average price paid for a detached home in Chester last year was £338,360.
Meanwhile, only 10 minutes away from the city centre by car, Elan Homes has detached designs available at Westminster Place, from £274,995.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, explains: “No two properties are exactly the same and so it can be tricky for buyers to draw comparisons, particularly if they’re looking at both new build homes and their older equivalents. The headline average price doesn’t reveal anything about the size of the property, number of bedrooms, the condition and specification or the location and so the adage ‘you get what you pay for’ may not ring true. Our new homes at Westminster Place are competitively priced for the area. Not only that, but because they’re brand new, there’s no need to budget for repairs and renovations. The NHBC estimates that it can cost as much as £50,000 to bring an older property to the standard of a new build so the question really is can you afford not to buy a brand new home.”
The Fairford, available from £274,955, is a three-bedroom detached home, equally well-suited to first time byers, young families and those looking to downsize once their own children have moved into homes of their own.
To the ground floor there’s a spacious lounge, an open plan kitchen/dining room with French doors leading to the garden, plus a handy laundry room and cloakroom.
Upstairs there’s the master bedroom complete with en-suite, two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The new homes at Westminster Place are ideally situated between Saighton and Huntington, offering village living in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, just a few miles from Chester city centre.
There are village shops and a supermarket within easy reach, while there are high street names, boutique stores and a host of dining options just 10 minutes away in the city centre.
The area is well served by well-regarded state and private schools – including Saighton C of E Primary, the independent Abbey Gate College and Huntington
Community Primary – making it a perfect place to settle down and raise a family.
Show and view homes at Westminster Place are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
