ELAN Homes is helping would-be homeowners in South Liverpool by hosting a special Help to Buy event at Aigburth Grange with experts on hand to offer advice.
More than 120,000 homebuyers have used the Government-backed equity loan scheme to reduce the initial cost of homeownership and the vast majority of them have been first time buyers.
Those who want to join them are invited to visit Aigburth Grange this Saturday (September 9) when Elan’s sales executives will be accompanied by representatives from Plus Dane, the North West’s Help to Buy agent, plus financial advisors from RSC New Homes.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, explains: “Help to Buy equity loans have been available for more than four years, but there’s still some uncertainty about the scheme. We’ve had lots of people asking questions about how it works including which properties it’s available on, the size of deposit they will need to raise and when interest will be charged on the equity loan. To help make things simple for buyers we decided to host a Help to Buy event. It will be a real one-stop shop for people who want to use the equity loan scheme with experts on hand to answer questions, assess buyers’ finances and guide them through the purchase process.”
Current availability at Aigburth Grange includes three-bedroom Glossop style properties priced from £244,995.
Help to Buy reduces the price to an initial outlay of £195,996. Typically, someone using the scheme would require a 5% deposit of £12,500, plus a 75% mortgage for £183,746. The remaining 20% £48,999 is covered by the equity loan. Crucially the equity loan is interest free for five years.
“Help to Buy equity loans are only available on new build homes, which along with the energy efficiency and lack of DIY required, helps set them apart from older properties,” Marie adds.
“The scheme’s particularly popular with first time buyers, who account for more than 80% of Help to Buy purchases. It’s a great way to boost your borrowing power so that you can buy sooner or bigger.”
The Glossop features a spacious combined lounge/ diner with direct access to the rear garden via French doors. The well equipped kitchen is at the front of the property, with a cloakroom plus large storage cupboard completing the ground floor.
Upstairs, there are two generous bedrooms, a third which would make an ideal nursery or study, plus the family bathroom.
The new homes at Aigburth Grange are perfectly placed just a few miles from the city centre, with a wealth of amenities close by including stylish shops and restaurants in Lark Lane. The green open spaces of Sefton Park are within easy reach, plus the area’s well served by schools.
