Discover how Help to Buy could help you buy a brand new home in Middlewich this Saturday (April 28)

MILLENNIALS in Middlewich are being invited to reconsider their housing options with a visit to Canalside this Saturday (April 28).

Elan Homes is hosting a special Help to Buy event at the development  on Croxton Lane to explain how the Government-backed equity loan scheme could make a real difference, enabling ‘generation rent’ to step onto the housing ladder.

Three and four-bedroom homes at Canalside are available with Help to Buy, making them perfect for first time buyers, including those with children. The scheme is also open to those who have sold their previous property, subject to contract.

Someone buying a home using Help to Buy should typically only need a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “We want to challenge the stereotype that millennials – people under 35 – are a generation of renters and to switch things around and ask them if they can afford not to buy. Increased demand for privately rented properties means there’s been an uplift in rental values to the extent that in many cases the rent is more than the mortgage would be for a similar property.

“Plus, with Help to Buy the size of deposit required to secure a home is typically around 5%, much lower than people may expect. Owning your own home also offers more security than renting and greater freedom. There’s no need to worry about the landlord selling up or having to ask permission before changing the décor.”

Current prices at Canalside start from £239,995 for a three-bedroom detached Marford, with four-bedroom homes available in a choice of styles priced from £314,995.

If the offer of Help to Buy wasn’t enough, on selected properties and for a limited time only, Elan is offering £1,000 towards legal fees and to fit carpets and vinyl, plus lay to turf to the rear garden.
