Specific location:  Head Office, Ellesmere Port 

Hours of work:      8.30 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am – 3.30 pm on a Friday

Elan Homes Holdings Limited is making waves in the homebuilding industry, constructing new homes across the Midlands, North West, South West England, and North Wales. As we expand, we need a confident and experienced Buyer to support our exciting growth journey.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Buyer at Elan Homes Holdings Limited, you'll play a pivotal role in our operations, ensuring the smooth procurement and cost management of our projects:

• Site Procurement: Handle the full site procurement process, including scheduling from technical drawings, tendering, and placing orders within budget and deadlines.
• Cost Management: Manage plant and prelim costs across various sites.
• Variation Orders: Manage variation orders as they arise.
• Invoice Management: Appraise invoices and address any recurring discrepancies.
• Site Audits: Conduct monthly stock and specification audits on site visits.
• Group Support: Assist the Group Procurement Manager in maintaining and upholding group deals and specifications.

• Market Analysis: Maintaining knowledge of the changing market place to continually achieve competitive prices and investigate new sources of supply.

What we’re looking for:

We seek candidates with a robust background in the building industry and relevant experience and qualifications:

• Proven experience (3-5 years minimum) in a similar role within a housebuilder or main contractor.
• HNC in a construction-related subject.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with procurement software (COINS preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
• Experience estimating and taking off from working drawings.

Industry Knowledge:

• Familiarity with NHBC standards is preferred but not mandatory.

Other Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Flexibility for travel to sites across the group.
