WITH the final new homes in Glastonbury on sale, there’s no time like the present for those hoping to wrap up a move in time for Christmas.
Elan Homes has just six properties to sell at its popular Avalon development in the Somerset town, including some ready to move into ahead of the festive season.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “If a new home tops your Christmas wish list, our Glastonbury development is your grotto as we have three homes that will be Santa ready. The good news for those with a house to sell as we’re offering the gift of our Easy Move scheme to help them wrap up the sale so they can buy a new home. There’s no need for the seller to try to find an agent to market their existing property as we’ll value it for them before instructing independent estate agents to market it. When an acceptable offer is received, they’ll be able to reserve a new Elan home. Contracts on the two properties will be exchanged simultaneously and we’ll even pay the agent’s fees.””
The homes available at Avalon for a pre-Christmas move are the three-bedroom semi-detached Fenwick, priced from £285,000 and the four-bedroom detached, double-fronted Broughton, available from £465,000.
“Buy a new home now and you could soon be swapping packing boxes for gift boxes,” Tracey said.
“Moving to a new home ahead of the festive season offers the perfect excuse to switch up your Christmas decorations, while keeping some family favourites. You could also test out your new kitchen by baking mince pies and sharing them with your new neighbours to spread some seasonal joy.”
The Fenwick features a lounge at the front, with open plan kitchen and dining room benefitting French doors opening out to the garden. A handy cloakroom completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en-suite and fitted wardrobes, leaving the family bathroom to serve the other two bedrooms.
The Broughton is the largest of the homes available at Avalon. The lounge is at the front, with double doors leading through to the dining room. In turn the dining room leads to the combined family room and kitchen, which can also be accessed via the hall. Both the family room and dining room offer direct access to the garden via French doors.
There’s also a utility, study and cloakroom.
Upstairs, all four bedrooms are doubles, two with en-suites to complement the family bathroom.
For those who want to make 2024 the year they move to a new home in Glastonbury, the other house type available at Avalon is the three-bedroom detached Russett Special, priced from £380,000.
The Russett Special offers a flexible solution to modern living, with rooms that can be easily adapted to suit your lifestyle.
The dual aspect, open plan kitchen, dining and family room spans from the front to the rear of the property and is complemented by a separate lounge, which benefits from French doors opening directly onto the rear garden.
There’s also a room that could be a formal dining room, a study, playroom for the children, a guest bedroom, gym or a combination of these.
A cloakroom, with shower, completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus a family bathroom.
Elan’s new homes achieve a minimum Energy Performance Certificate rating of B, meaning they’re among the most efficient available and making them eligible for green mortgages from selected lenders.
The new homes are being built on Old Wells Road, less than 10 miles from Worthy Farm, home of Glastonbury Festival.
