ELAN NEARS SELL-OUT SUCCESS IN GLASTONBURY

THE final home at Avalon in Glastonbury is now on sale and ready to move into.

Elan Homes has sold 41 of the 42 open market homes at the development on Old Wells Road.

Many of the properties are now occupied and all of them are build complete.

The construction team has moved out ready for the final residents to move in.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “Avalon is a fairly intimate development rather than a sprawling scheme of hundreds of homes. Despite its small scale we’ve provided a wide range of homes – with two to four bedrooms to cater for local needs. The majority of purchasers were already living in the area and were keen to remain in this part of Somerset. We’ve welcomed a good mix of purchasers to our new homes in Glastonbury from first time buyers to families and downsizers. We’re now down to the very last home – a four-bedroom detached Broughton. It’s an ideal family home and is available with EasyMove meaning those with a house to sell could still move here as we’ll help them secure a buyer. But they’ll need to act fast as it really is our final home.

“The lucky buyer will be able to enjoy all of the benefits of a new build, including an upgraded kitchen, fitted with integrated appliances; sleek bathrooms and en-suites, ease of maintenance and lower energy bills. Research by the Home Builders Federation* suggests that those who move from an older house to a new one, could save almost £2,200 a year on their energy bills.”

The four-bedroom Broughton is an attractive double fronted property, offering 1,502 sq ft of carefully considered living space, plus detached single garage. It’s priced from £465,000 and includes flooring throughout.

The lounge is at the front, with double doors leading through to the dedicated dining room, which in turn connects to the open plan kitchen and family room. Both the family room and dining room offer direct access to the rear garden via French doors.

There’s also a study, perfect for home working, plus a handy utility and a cloakroom.

Upstairs, two of the bedrooms have an en-suite, meaning the family bathroom serves just two bedrooms.

The new homes enjoy a leafy location, with part of an orchard retained and planting carried out to create a nature rich biodiverse setting, with a small “village green”.

Recreational open space, including a children’s play area, will form part of the development with Elan contributing almost £63,000 towards open space provision.

Elan’s new homes at Avalon are located less than 10 miles from Worthy Farm, home of Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Tor offers a chance to explore the outdoors, including a butterfly trail, there’s also the historic abbey, plus all the amenities people want from a neighbourhood including restaurants and gastro pubs, high street stores, quirky independents and a regular market.
