WORK on a second Elan Homes development in Wilmslow is underway.
The Cheshire-based homebuilder was last year recognised in the prestigious Northern Design Awards when The Larches in Wilmslow was shortlisted in the residential development category.
The company is hoping to build on that success with its latest development in the sought-after neighbourhood, with a scheme of 14 new homes on a 1.67 acre site off Moor Lane.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Wilmslow remains one of the North West’s most desirable neighbourhoods and we know that there’s a real demand for new homes in the area. People love the large and luxurious homes we’ve built at The Larches and this new development is set to be equally as popular. Situated off Moor Lane, it’s closer to the centre of Wilmslow and will offer a wider choice of four and five-bedroom detached designs for private sale.”
Prices for the 10 private sale properties at the development will be announced when the homes are released onto the market in spring. They will range in size from 1,283 sq ft to 2,014 sq ft.
“This latest Wilmslow development may be small in scale but the additional investment it brings will have a real benefit to the wider community,” Marie added.
“For example, Elan will contribute £42,000 to improve play and amenity facilities at the Gravel Lane and Fulshaw Recreation Ground, with a further £10,000 to be used to carry out works at the Jim Evison playing fields and pavilion. Plus, because we are building family homes we will also contribute £65,224 towards the cost of additional primary and secondary school places.”
The land being developed by Elan previously housed an abattoir with storage and parking associated with that use.
Elan worked with Hourigan Connolly to navigate the scheme through the planning process.

This latest result follows the securing of detailed planning permission for The Larches scheme.
