WOW FACTOR WORCESTER HOME

STYLED with accents of navy and ochre, a new show home in Worcester demonstrates how a little colour can brighten up your home.

Elan Homes enlisted Edward Thomas Interiors to dress the five-bedroom Kelsall Special to showcase the large and luxurious properties at its Stableford development.

Erica Lee, from Edward Thomas Interiors, explains: “The Kelsall Special is an aspirational property and we’ve imagined a family with older children living here. With this mind we’ve used a colour palette of a soft base of ivory tones with navy and ochre accents for a splash of colour. Metallic silver wallpapers, plus chrome and glass lights and furniture, add a touch of glamour in this light, bright and comfortable home. To help emphasise just how spacious this home is, we’ve placed a piano in the hallway.”

At the heart of the Kelsall Special is the combined kitchen, dining area and family room with adjoining utility. This sociable space has been furnished with a table set for six and comfortable oversized three-seater sofa.

In the separate lounge, navy and ochre cushions add a pop of colour on the neutral sofas, with a statement wing-backed chair adding further colour.

Both the lounge and family area benefit from French doors, offering lots of natural light and easy access to the garden.

There’s also a dedicated dining room with floral print feature wallpaper and, again, a table set for six.

Upstairs, the master bedroom and en-suite sits above the garage. The bed sits in front of a navy and metallic palm print feature wallpaper, with a velvet throw and lots of cushions adding to the glamorous feel of this room.

The guest bedroom has more muted tones. Grey wooden furniture, grey headboard and curtains create a sense of calm and tranquillity in this room.

“We recognise that buying a home, particularly for those with older children, is often a family decision and so we’ve tried to reflect this in how we’ve dressed the show home,” Erica adds.

“For example, we’ve imagined that there’s a style-conscious 20-something living with her parents. We’ve styled “her” bedroom with a Ted Baker theme with floral digital wallpaper, modern white bedsides and dressing table, statement dressing stool, plus fashion and make-up accessories.

“There’s also a teenage boys room with a rowing theme, including a bespoke designed headboard made from oars with furniture to fit with this theme.”

The final bedroom is designed as the bedroom of a Worcester College student, styled in subtle shades of grey with navy soft furnishings.

Current availability at Stableford includes three, four and five-bedroom homes, with prices from £295,995 to £510,000.
