This is a rare opportunity to step into a varied and commercially focused HR Manager role, working closely with senior leadership and gaining exposure across the full employee lifecycle—from complex employee relations and organisational change through to systems, strategy, and workforce development.

You will play a key role in supporting the business through growth and change, with significant autonomy, variety, and visibility at Board level.

Your Role:

Reporting into the Group Managing Director, you will deliver both strategic and operational HR support, ensuring commercially focused and legally compliant outcomes across the business.

  • Act as the primary advisor on all ER matters, managing complex cases end-to-end and supporting managers through investigations, hearings, and outcomes.
  • Handle early conciliation and negotiations, working pragmatically to resolve disputes and minimise risk.
  • Ensure policies and practices are fully aligned with employment law and ACAS guidance, maintaining a consistent and compliant approach across the business.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and senior leaders, providing coaching and influencing effective people management.
  • Maintain accurate HR data, produce insightful reports, and support continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Oversee key processes including absence management, Occupational Health, and employee benefits administration.
  • Work closely with Finance, Payroll, and IT to ensure efficient, joined-up processes.

Key Experience & Knowledge:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role with strong employee relations focus
  • Demonstrable experience managing early conciliation including negotiations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and ACAS best practice
  • Experience handling complex ER cases and risk mitigation
  • Exposure to organisational change (redundancy, restructuring, TUPE)
  • Experience in HR policy development and implementation

Skills

  • Strong investigative and case management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Analytical mindset with experience in HR reporting and systems

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified (Chartered or Associate) – essential
  • HR-related degree – desirable
