Things to do around Stockport

Situated very close to Werneth Low Country Park, our new builds in Stockport are just two miles from a popular viewpoint where you can take in panoramic views of the whole of Manchester. Romiley Golf Club is also only a 3-minute drive from the development, perfect for a leisurely (or competitive) round. 

For day-to-day essentials, there’s a small convenience store less than half a mile away, while a short drive gives you access to an Iceland and a large Morrisons. 

For those bigger shopping trips, Stockport Retail Park and Merseyway Shopping Centre are both under 15 minutes away by car. If you’re after something a little different, Stockport Indoor Market is also a great place to explore independent stalls and traders. 

St Marks Pavilion is also within easy walking distance of a selection of traditional pubs, including The Foresters Arms and The White Hart, both serving food and drinks. 

Transport in Stockport

Getting around from our new build homes in Stockport is simple and convenient. The M60 is just over 2 miles away, offering direct links to Manchester and surrounding towns, while the nearby A560 connects easily to the wider Greater Manchester road network. 

Woodley Train Station is under a mile from the development and provides regular services into Manchester Piccadilly, making it ideal for daily commutes. 

For local journeys, the Pennine Road bus stop is around the corner from St Marks Pavilion. From here, you can catch the 382 service into Stockport, as well as other buses connecting to nearby areas like Bredbury and Mellor.  

And you’re in luck when it comes to international travel – Manchester Airport is less than 20 minutes away by car, with a wide selection of domestic and international flights. 

Schools in Woodley

Families moving to St Marks Pavilion will find a great choice of schools and nurseries close to home, all rated Good or above by Ofsted.  

For primary-aged children, both Greave Primary School (ages 5–11) and Woodley Primary School (ages 3–11) are just half a mile away, offering a convenient school run. 

When it comes to secondary education, Stockport School is a well-regarded option around 15 minutes away by car, catering to students aged 11 to 16. St Thomas More RC College is another popular choice nearby, located just a 12-minute drive from the development.
