Things to do around Blackpool

 

With so much coastline within easy driving distance from our new builds in Blackpool, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the right beach for you.

You can always start off by heading over to St Annes Beach, where you’ll find the town’s pier, as well as plenty of activities for the kids during the summer months.

However, if you’re after an action-packed day, Blackpool Pleasure Beach has everything you need. From rollercoasters at Nickelodeon Land and arcades to adventure golf and an ice arena, you’ll simply never be bored!

Golfers will want to try out the internationally renowned Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in Lytham St Annes, which has hosted 11 Open Championships and 2 Ryder Cups over the years.

For any shopping, Blackpool Retail Park is less than 1 mile from the development, where you’ll find plenty of shops, including a Morrisons for your weekly groceries.

And if you’re after a bite to eat, you’ll find  sé Anār, one of Blackpool’s best Indian restaurants, just over a mile away or Ambrosinis for some authentic Italian flavours a bit further down the road.

Transport in Blackpool

 

Getting to and from our new homes near Lytham St Annes couldn’t be easier thanks to the many great transport links around Redwood Gardens.

For example, the M55 is a 6-minute drive away, giving you direct access to Preston and the M6 in less than 30 minutes. This also means bigger cities such as Liverpool and Manchester can be reached in around 1 hour 30 minutes by car.

For anyone needing to take the train, Blackpool Pleasure Beach train station is less than 3 miles away from the development and offers regular services into Preston. For railway travel further afield, Blackpool North (5 miles away) offers direct trains to Manchester, Liverpool and York.

The closest bus stop (Squires Gate Lane) can be found less than 5 minutes from Redwood Gardens on foot. From there, you’ll be able to hop onto the 5, 5B and 11B buses (all run by Blackpool Transport), giving you regular access to Blackpool, Lytham St Annes and many of the neighbouring areas.

As for international travel, Manchester Airport is just over an hour away by car, or you can get a direct train there from Blackpool North.

Another huge advantage of settling down in one of our new builds in Blackpool is the number of great schools in the neighbouring areas thanks to the developments proximity to both Blackpool and Lytham St Annes.

The closest primary school to Redwood Gardens is Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School, accessible in just 4 minutes on foot. Other options within a 2-mile radius are St Nicholas CofE Primary School, Marton Primary School and Hawes Side Academy.

For the next step up, St George’s School is less than 2 miles away and provides secondary education to children aged 11 to 16. Another option, closer to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, is the recently opened South Shore Academy.

There are also some great nurseries for the little ones nearby, including Kids Planet Bluebell Lodge, Hawes Side Nursery and Dunes Day Nursery a bit further afield.

And for anyone looking for local higher education, both Blackpool and Fylde College University Centre and University of Lancashire in Preston are within easy driving distance.
