THE ease of living in a new home in Worcestershire could start before moving day, with help from Elan Homes.
Nestled in the picturesque town of Bewdley, with a nature reserve on the doorstep, homes at Sandbourne Gardens, are attracting strong interest from downsizers.
They recognise that a new build home offers a low maintenance solution to modern living, with the chance to reduce energy bills thanks to a range of efficient features that would cost thousands to install in an older property.
What they may not realise is that that they could enjoy that ease of living sooner than they imagined as Elan will help them sell the property they want to move from.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball explained: “Our new homes in Bewdley have broad appeal, attracting a range of purchasers, including locals and those looking to relocate from Kidderminster, Stourport and Stourbridge. They’re drawn to the area because of its quiet, leafy setting and easy access to Worcester and Birmingham. Many want a new build because of the convenience – latest figures suggest it would cost £23,100 to £83,000 to bring an older property to the same energy efficiency of a new home.
“Sandbourne Gardens includes a good range of properties, including the rare chance to own a new bungalow, and we’re receiving a lot of enquiries from people ready to downsize. Even our largest five-bedroom homes, which are generously proportioned compared with some other new builds in the surrounding area, are seeing strong interest from empty nesters looking for a more manageable home. We’ve had enquiries from people who are rattling around in homes spanning 4,000 sq ft which are now too large as their children have flown the nest. In many cases when people initially enquire, they’re yet to put their current property on the market. They’re often relieved to learn we can help with that with our EasyMove scheme. We’ll instruct an agent to market the customer’s home and even pay the agent’s fees. This frees up the customer’s energy to focus on the future rather than being held back by the past.”
Current availability at Sandbourne Gardens ranges from a two-bedroom Sutton Special, priced from £299,995, up to a five-bedroom Hampshire, priced from £799,995.
A small number of homes are almost ready to move into, including a two-bedroom Haywood Special style bungalow, priced from £350,000, and a three-bedroom Finham Special, priced from £400,000
Located on Stourport Road, Sandbourne Gardens is next to Blackstone Nature Reserve, which offers the opportunity to explore the outdoors close to home. There’s a choice of local shops and restaurants nearby, while Kidderminster, Worcester and Birmingham are all easily accessible.
The show home at Sandbourne Gardens is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information see www.elan-homes.co.uk/developments/sandbourne-gardens
