CONSTRUCTION of new homes at a boutique development near Solihull is progressing well with the first properties soon to be released for sale.
Elan Homes is building just 17 new homes on a 1.73 acre site on Waste Lane in Balsall Common.
The company is gearing up to launch the development, known as Berkswell Rise, with a show home to showcase the properties opening soon. The name of the scheme is a nod to the nearby windmill.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “There’s been lots of work going on behind the scenes and on site since Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council approved our plans for new homes in Balsall Common. Along with preparing the site and constructing the properties, we’ve also been building a database of potential purchasers. Feedback is that they love the idea of living within a boutique development in an established community, just 20 minutes from Solihull. Despite being intimate in scale, there will be a good choice of homes available.
“We’d encourage anyone who’s looking for a new home that’s easy to manage and efficient to run to register their interest now. We’ll be keeping those who’ve enquired updated on our progress and offering them exclusive early access when we launch the development.”
Berkswell Rise will offer a choice of two, three and four-bedroom properties. Prices for the homes will be announced at the launch.
The new homes will bring investment of more than £1.25 million in the local area, including a Community Infrastructure Levy payable to the council.
Elan will contribute more than £430,000 to the local authority for affordable housing in the wider area, with around £240,000 to be allocated for education.
There will also be £86,000 for highways improvements, more than £53,000 for play pitches, plus a Local Area of Play will be created within the development.
Located 20 minutes away from Solihull by car, Balsall Common offers the best of town and countryside living. The new homes will benefit from a range of amenities within a 20-minute walk including a nursery, primary and secondary schools, supermarket, post office and village centre.
Berkswell station is the closest train station to Berkswell Rise and can be found just under two miles or a five-minute drive away. The station offers direct services to Birmingham New Street and London Euston, which run every 30 minutes.
