THE first housing development in the Staffordshire village of Loggerheads for a decade has proved a success with 80% of homes now sold.

Elan Homes first opened show homes at Brook Meadow in the summer of 2019. Two years on, the vast majority of properties have been snapped up with many of them already occupied.

The final countdown is now underway with only 11 homes available.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Brook Meadow has attracted a mix of local people already living in and around Loggerheads and those looking to move out of Stoke and nearby towns for a more relaxed pace of life. The combination of the village location and the convenience of owning a brand new home, with a superb specification as standard, has made our homes a popular choice.

“The pandemic has had an impact on the success of the development as it’s changed people’s priorities. Because they haven’t been able to travel they’re investing the money that would have been spent on holidays on a new home. We’ve also seen that the rise in working from home is encouraging people to move. Plus, after spending more time than ever before at home, people appreciate the impact being happy at home can have on their mental health and so are making a lifestyle choice to move to somewhere they can enjoy a better quality of life.”

Current availability at Brook Meadow includes a choice of four-bedroom detached homes.

A Southwold style property, offering 1,283 sq ft of living space, is available from £319,995.

The lounge is at the front of the home, with feature bay window. Double doors lead from the lounge to the open plan kitchen and dining room, with adjoining utility and cloakroom.

Upstairs, the main bedroom boasts an en-suite, leaving the family bathroom to serve the other three bedrooms.

The good news for those with a house to sell is that Elan will consider part exchange on selected properties at Brook Meadow, including the Southwold.

“Demand for housing remains strong with no sign of slowing and some people are worried they will miss out on a move to Brook Meadow is they haven’t yet sold the house they want to move from,” Marie added.

“We’re offering to step in and help, effectively acting as a cash buyer for the customer’s property. The beauty of this is there are no agent’s fees to pay and they can even stay in their current home until their new one is ready.”
