WORK on new homes in Tamworth is progressing well with more than a third of properties at Dosthill Gate now sold.

Elan Homes was granted detailed planning consent to build 37 homes on a 2.5 acre site on Dosthill Road in August 2022.

By the time the first homes were released for sale “off plan” last March, more than 400 people had registered their interest in the properties.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “The site of our new homes in Tamworth had been vacant for decades and people had long wanted to see it brought back into good use. Work on site is progressing well and we’ve now sold more than a third of the private sale properties. We have a few homes that are currently for sale that will soon be build complete and ready to move into. Across Dosthill Gate, Elan is building two, three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices ranging from £310,000 to £415,000.

The homes almost ready to move into include examples of the three-storey, three-bedroom semi-detached Thurston Max (plots 8 and 9), priced from £340,000, and the three-bedroom detached Finham Special (plot 1), priced from £355,000.

The ground floor of the Thurston Max is almost entirely open plan with a combined kitchen, dining room and lounge providing an inviting, sociable multifunctional space. French doors open out from the lounge to the rear garden, helping make the most of the outside space. A cloakroom completes this level.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms and the family bathroom.

The main bedroom, with en-suite and dressing area, encompass the entire top floor.
