STAMP duty savings could help keep the Wilmslow market moving as Elan Homes offers valuable assistance to buyers.
A YouGov poll found that almost a fifth (19%) of homeowners felt that Stamp Duty was too expensive and was a barrier to moving.
Elan is helping to cut the cost of moving by offering to pay the Stamp Duty on selected properties at The Larches. It effectively means a tax saving of almost £30,000.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Wilmslow is widely considered a property hotspot and one of the North West’s most desirable neighbourhoods, but while people aspire to live here some of the costs associated with moving can deter buyers. For example, Stamp Duty is often cited as holding up the housing market, keeping people who want to move in properties that no longer suit their needs. Tax relief for first time buyers has helped tens of thousands of people onto the property ladder, but the changes have done little for the wider market which is why we’re offering to cover Stamp Duty for customers at The Larches. Alternatively we’re offering part exchange so that those with a house to sell will effectively have a guaranteed cash buyer. Hopefully these move-making incentives will make a real difference to purchasers at various stages of the buying and selling cycle.”
Prices at The Larches start from £799,995 for a five-bedroom detached Wilmslow style property, available with carpets and floor tiles, plus turfed garden.
