NEW SHOW HOME IN FASHIONABLE SOUTH MANCHESTER IS ON TREND

DRESSED in tones of rust and steel, style-conscious buyers are sure to take a shine to the latest show home in one of South Manchester’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.

Derwent Court, between Chorlton and Didsbury, is an intimate development of just 13 properties from Elan Homes.

Showcasing the designs is a four-bedroom Twyford show home, decorated, styled and furnished by Stanza Style.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “When we plan a new development we think about who would want to live there and why. That extends from the style of home we build to the interior styling. Derwent Court is situated close to one of Manchester’s most fashionable neighbourhoods and so it was important that the show home reflects the latest interior trends.

“We’ve had some fantastic feedback from visitors. They love that we’re making the most of the footprint of the properties by building over three floors rather than two and the show home has really helped them imagine how they could use the space.”

The show home offers 1,585 sq ft of well-thought out living space, designed with modern family living in mind.

Alex Egan, from Stanza Style, explains: “Coral was a popular shade in the summer, but alongside that rust is also on trend and we’ve mixed that with a dusty, chalky steel blue to make a style statement. There’s an earthy glamour to the property that fits in with the location as West Didsbury is a sought-after area.”

The Twyford features an open plan kitchen, dining and family room, plus handy cloakroom, to the ground floor.

“It’s a huge space and so we’ve positioned a corner sofa in the room rather than against the wall to zone off the family area,” Alex explains.

“We’ve also added a gorgeous blonded wood sideboard, which sits in front of a feature wallpaper that’s ombred with a water colour effect. The wallpaper really sets the room and gives it depth. To complete the look we added copper/ bronze curled ceiling lights, rust napkins and cushions, plus grey and black framed artwork. It’s the perfect room for a party.”

The lounge is on the first floor and features leaf patterned wallpaper by Harlequin to the fire place wall, with blonded wooden furniture with grey framework.

“It has a cosy feel – perfect for winter,” Alex adds.

“The master bedroom is also on this level and we’ve used a shiny, shimmery bronze hologram wallpaper and mirrored furniture for a very glamorous look, adding a chaise and fitted wardrobes to create a luxurious feel.”

For added convenience, the en-suite to master bedroom in this family home can be accessed from the landing as well as via the bedroom.

The remaining three bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the top floor.

The second bedroom is at the front of the house and features a botanical patterned wallpaper in soft pastel blue, beige and ivory, with a soft blue headboard.

“We’ve created a bedroom for a teenager who loves clothes, fashion and jewellery by using a wallpaper that has silhouettes of women on,” Alex says. “We accessorised this room with a mannequin, while sparkly shoes and a handbag are displayed in a frame on a shelf.”

A white wicker headboard, wardrobe and bedsides complete the look in this room.

The final bedroom has a rugby theme with wallpaper that looks like leather, vintage rugby posters and other accessories including a locker room style bench and metal bedsides.

The headboard has eyelets in and it looks like there are laces stringed into the headboard.

Derwent Court offers a choice of four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £474,995.

A Twyford, like the show home, is available from £499,995.

Elan will consider part exchange or may offer to pay the Stamp Duty to help get people moving.
