THE first residents have begun moving into a new housing development in Bewdley.
It’s the latest milestone being celebrated by Elan Homes at Sandbourne Gardens on Stourport Road.
The 8.25-acre site was allocated for housing in the Wyre Forest District Local Plan, with the mix of properties designed to address local needs.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “Those who reserved their new homes at Sandbourne Gardens at the earliest opportunity are now starting to move in. It’s an exciting time for them and us, and a real cause for celebration as the new community we’ve planned comes alive. There’s something quite magical about that first Christmas in your new home. One of the things people like about buying a new home is that everyone is in the same position when it comes to meeting their new neighbours.”
Across the development Elan is building 14 different house types, with two to five-bedrooms. There’s even the rare chance to own a new build bungalow.
Current prices at Sandbourne Gardens range from £349,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Brocton to £609,995 for a four-bedroom detached Blenheim, like the show home.
There are also two self-build plots available, one with outline permission for a three-bedroom home, the other for a four-bedroom property.
“We’ve already sold out of some designs, but there’s still plenty of choice,” Tracey added.
“We’d encourage potential purchasers to use the resources on our website including the site and floor plans, plus video and 3600 tours of the different house types to help them work out which property style best suits their lifestyle. There’s even the opportunity for buyers to use our mortgage checker to test out what the mortgage repayments are likely to be, without affecting their credit score.”
Along with new homes, Elan will be creating a Locally Equipped Area for Play and will be including train-shaped items giving a nod to the neighbouring Severn Valley Railway Line.
It’s an ideal place to raise a family as the homes are being built in the catchment area for a number of well-regarded local schools and just a five-minute drive from Bewdley town centre. The nearby A456 offers easy access to Kidderminster and Birmingham, while Worcester is also a short drive away via the A449.
