AMATUER artists’ work celebrating why they love living in Poynton will be on display in a new exhibition.
Hosted by Elan Homes at the Hazelfields development on Hazelbadge Road, the exhibition will run from May 25 to June 22.
Elan regional sales and marketing director Marie Morris said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to our art competition, with enthusiastic artists eager to share why they love living in Poynton. We’ve been impressed by the time, creativity and care that’s gone into capturing the places, people and moments that make Poynton special. Choosing which pieces to display was difficult but we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our temporary art gallery, which celebrates the neighbourhood and the people who call it home.”
Entries were welcomed in any medium, including drawing, painting, photography, collage and mixed media. Artists were also asked to submit a short caption explaining the inspiration behind their artwork.
Visitors will be able to view a curated selection of artwork submitted by local residents and vote for their favourites in three age group categories: children (11 and under); young people (12–17); adults (18+).
The winner in each age group will receive a £50 Trafford Centre voucher.
For those looking for a new home in Poynton, Elan has plenty of choice from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom detached family homes. They offer a blank canvas with plenty of opportunity for personalisation, subject to build stage.
